Collingwood Homestead is situated 2 hours scenic drive from Nelson
City and twenty minutes drive from Takaka.
This
1904 colonial home was built as a private residence when the
township of Collingwood was a thriving gold town of three thousand
people. Today Collingwood is a charming beachside township serviced
with cafés, general store and relics of the goldrush days.
Collingwood acts as an excellent base for visitors to explore many
of the Golden Bay's unique activities and natural attractions:
Farewell Spit, Abel Tasman National Park, Kahurangi National Park,
safe swimming beaches, horse riding on Wharariki Beach, Pupu Springs, trout fishing and local arts and
crafts. |
